Welcome to vCritters.com! First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my website. vCritters.com is not your typical website that was created by a big team of investors solely to make a quick buck. This website consists of just me, Brian, and I created this website for one reason; to help save real life animals.

On March 28th, 2008, I lost my cat and best friend, Harry, at only 5 and a half years old, to cancer. From that day, I thought "how can I create a charitable type organization that can donate millions of dollars to animal charities, in Harry's name, so that Harry's legacy can live on forever?" I decided to create Harry's Pal (http://harryspals.com), a network of a few free websites that donates a portion of their revenues to charities. For the past few years, I’ve been searching for a way to create a website that could get millions of people to come to on a daily basis, which would be able to donate a lot of money to animal charities, just by the users donating a little bit of their time. Then it finally hit me; create a free virtual pet website that requires people to take care of their pets everyday, donating nothing but their time, and then I'll be able to donate a ton of money to animal charities.

Within the past few months, the economy has taken a turn for the worst, and pets have been hit the hardest. Not only are people not adopting pets like they used to, but many people are also taking their pets back to animal shelters, because they can't afford to take care of them. These shelters survive by small funds they receive when people adopt their pets. Therefore, without people adopting pets, the shelters are getting packed to capacity, while earning no money. To show you how bad the situation is, I adopted Harry from my local Humane Society in Miami 5 years ago, and at the time, there were a total of four cats there. I recently adopted another cat, Billy, and to my surprise, there were over 100 cats at the humane society.

For all these reasons, I have created vCritters.com. I have created over 70 different animals that you can customize, name, and adopt. I encourage you to treat adopt as many pets as you want, post them on your blogs, MySpace, and Facebook profiles, and return to vCritters.com everyday to feed and play with your critters. My goal is to have 1,000,000 people adopting and taking care of their animals everyday by December 31st, 2009, so we ask that you please take care of your pets and adopt pets for your friends here: Adopt for a Friend.

I know it might be annoying to have to come to the same site every single day to do this, but I need you. I wish I could donate millions of dollars to charity with just 10 people coming to the website every day, but the reality is that I need hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, to accomplish this. This NEEDS to be a collective expert. All you have to do is donate 2 minutes of your day to feed and play with your critters, and you will help save hundreds of thousands of animals lives. Just think of it this way: instead of spending two hours per day spying on your friends on MySpace and Facebook, spend 1 hour and 58 minutes there, and two minutes taking care of your pets on vCritters. :)
